Educate clients on the design process
Have a project / Workflow planner
Keep your client up to date
After being assigned a project, we first need to schedule an information-gathering session. It will help you sharpen your focus and objectives, and it will help ensure that what we produce is creatively excellent and strategically targeted.
We, as designers, need to schedule workflow in a businesslike fashion. Download the project planner and plan work while communicating deadlines properly.
During a project, keep your client informed of progress. Activities that will affect the schedule or budget should be held within the communication. Keeping track of the process and happenings within a project gives the client peace of mind and everyone on the same page.
Graphic Design takes time. Despite popular misconceptions, good creative work doesn't often come in a flash of inspiration; usually, it comes from lots of trial and error. Clients don't always know the process to get to the desired result. It is your responsibility to educate them.
