Hello, beautiful creatives!
I’ve been sitting here, staring at a blank screen, trying to find the perfect way to start this—and then it hit me: this doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to be real. So here I am, pouring my heart out to you, one creative to another.
If you’re new here, welcome! And if you’ve been with me for a while, welcome back. I’m Nelett. This space is my love letter to you, the designers, freelancers, and artists who keep the world spinning with your talent and vision.
Let me tell you a little bit about me. I’ve spent 24 years in the design trenches. I’ve pulled all-nighters, juggled impossible deadlines, and worked with clients who had champagne dreams on a tap-water budget. Sound familiar? I’ve been there—feeling like I had to prove my worth at every turn, always hustling, always sacrificing. And let me tell you: it doesn’t have to be that way.
When I was younger, a family friend used to say, “It’s because you’re an artist,” like being creative explained away all my quirks. Back then, it felt like a box I couldn’t escape. But even as a kid, I had this quiet fire in me—a determination to show the world that being an artist wasn’t a limitation. It was my superpower.
Now, after decades of working in the industry, I’ve shifted my focus. I’m still fiercely in love with design, but now I’m here to mentor you—to help you navigate the unspoken struggles of our industry and reclaim your power as a creative. Because let’s be honest: the way things are isn’t always kind to us. Unrealistic expectations, undervalued work, and that tired old “struggling artist” stereotype… I’m over it. Aren’t you?
That’s why I created the Designers’ Playbook Planner and Desk—a blueprint for running your business with simplicity and confidence. It’s not just a tool; it’s a lifeline. It’s the key to stepping into your creative power without letting admin work drain you.
So here’s my promise to you: This year, we’re going to rewrite the narrative. You’re not “just” an artist. You’re not a needle lost in a haystack. You’re the needle—the one that stands out, sharp, focused, and absolutely irreplaceable.
Let’s design a creative life that works for you—simpler, slower, better. Are you in?
With all my creative love,
Nelett
